Tanjong Malim, Perak, Malaysia

Tanjong Malim is a peaceful town located at about 70km north of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It lies on the Perak-Selangor state border, with Sungai Bernam serving as the natural divider. This lovely town can be reached via the North-South Highway or simply by train from the KL Sentral Station.


The Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) is one of the most historical place in Tanjong Malim. Opened in 1917 as Sultan Idris Training College, the university has produced so many important people for the country.


Tanjong Malim is a nice place to relax yourself from the bustling city. There are many traditional food stalls and restaurants around here and you can have great food at pretty economical prices. Try the Nasi Lemak Terhad 10 Pagi, or Mee Goreng Mamak at K. P. Mohamed Restaurant. Pasar Lambak is a street market that happen every Saturday in this town where many food operators sell plenty choices of food and stuff. You can also hang out for coffee while listening to live bands at the Sarang Hub.

Another special reason to visit this town is because it is located very close to nature. Chill yourself at Sungai Bil waterfall or climb Bukit Changkat Asah for a leisure walk in the woods. These places are very near to the town.
