The Old Market Square (Slab Square) is an open city square in Nottingham, England. It is is the largest public space in the United Kingdom after London’s Trafalgar Square, covering an area of approximately 22,000 square metres. The square is a major hub for the city’s social scene and transport links. It is often used for large local events, fairs, concerts and exhibitions. Located in the heart of Nottingham City Centre, the square is bounded by Beastmarket Hill to the West, Smithy Row to the North, and South Parade to the South. The Eastern end of the square is dominated by the Council House, which serves as Nottingham's town hall. The square was the original setting of Nottingham Goose Fair, an annual fair held in October originating over 700 years ago. The Goose Fair was moved in 1928 for redevelopment of the square. Arthur's Seat is the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh, Scotland. This large, grass covered hill is the remains of an extinct volcano that erupted 350 million years ago. Located inside Holyrood  Park, Arthur’s Seat offers incredible views of Edinburgh and the surrounding area, including the sea to the East. Arthur’s Seat is a magical place, and yet it was probably named after a local hero named Arthur and had little to do with the actual King Arthur. The hill rises above the city to a height of 250.5 m (822 ft). It is relatively easy to climb, and is popular for hillwalking. Though it can be climbed from almost any direction, the easiest and simplest ascent is from the east, where a grassy slope rises above Dunsapie Loch. At a spur of the hill, Salisbury Crags has historically been a rock climbing venue with routes of various degrees of difficulty, but due to hazards, rock climbing is now restricted to the South Quarry and a permit is required.
