Masjid al-Nabawī is a mosque established and originally built by the Islamic prophet Muhammad, situated in the city of Madinah of the Hejaz region of Saudi Arabia. It was the fourth mosque built in the history of Islam, and is now one of the largest mosques in the world. The site was originally adjacent to Prophet Muhammad's house; he settled there after his migration from Makkah to Madinah in 622. He shared in the heavy work of construction. The original mosque was an open-air building. The mosque served as a community center, a court, and a religious school. Today the mosque is visited by millions of pilgrims from around the world. Masjid Sultan, Singapore

Masjid Sultan is the most iconic mosque in Singapore. It was built in 1824 and has played an important role in Singapore’s Muslim community for almost 200 years. The mosque is a prominent landmark in the Kampong Glam Malay Heritage District. Masjid Sultan’s decor reflects a mix of traditional Indian, Islamic and European architecture. It’s also known for its distinct golden domes which you can probably spot from afar. The Mosque has a prayer hall which can accommodate up to 5000 people in mass prayer. Masjid Sultan has a long history that goes back to 1824. Sultan Hussain Shah, Ruler of Temasek, former name of Singapore, proposed to build a mosque. Sir Stamford Raffles promised that the East India Company will donate $3,000 to assist in the building of Sultan Mosque. It was ready two years later.
